  • Systemic Family Therapy: working on a relational approach to address the concern within the context of the family/social system/other relational
    systems.
  • Narrative Approach: working with the individual’s or family history and
culture; unpacking how the story is told or could be reframed to bring about
    new possibilities.
  • Externalising the concern: supporting the client to recognise the problem as separate from themselves.
Use of Timelines and Genograms (Family Tree) to explore the family of
    origin’s history/dynamics / patterns and strengths.
  • Collaborative Approach: Offering a collaborative and respectful approach where the client is the expert of themselves
  • Creative Practice: Use of Art/Music/Play to engage young people in the
    therapy process.
  • Mindfulness and Relaxation Practices – engaging in relaxation exercises to reduce overthinking and reduce “auto pilot”.
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Practice – inviting clients to reflect on how their thoughts and feelings impact on their behaviour, and managing
    strategies to reduce problem symptoms.
  • Ethical Practice: Maintaining a safe therapeutic environment where the
